Family-Friendly Visitor centre with information about Chesil Beach and its wildlife. Bird watching, views under the sea, gifts, boardwalk to the beach and lots more... The centre is run by friendly, knowledgeable, local volunteers and is open 7 days a week, from 10am-4pm before Easter and 10am-5pm after Easter. The Fine Foundation Centre is halfway along the causeway between Weymouth ans Portland on the A354 (Portland Beach road - DT4 9XE) There is a pay and display council owned carpark. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS FOR THE DWT CENTRE AND NOT THE TASTE CAFE.

Very interesting little Centre giving lots of info about local wildlife and the history of the area over the years and wwII where the bouncin* bomb of da busters fame was tested in the fleet

It's a great visitor centre, with a cafe attached (quite expensive) - & at the side, lovely clean loos. The beach is just pebbles, & we gave up trying to get over the top of it, as our dogs struggled, as did we!

The Visitor Centre is ideally located on Chesil Beach offering a welcome refuge from inclement weather and lovely fresh, healthy refreshments after a walk along the beach. There is a gift shop selling educational mementos for the budding young geologists and sealife enthusiasts. There is...More

We stopped off here to have a little walk on Chesil Beach and afterwards called in at the visitor centre for lunch - lovely freshly made sandwiches and perfect fries, abslutely hit the spot. Would definitely recommend!

Stopped in the visitor centre after an hour boat trip. Modern clean space with a few interesting things for young children to do (make their own sea creature from plastine, colouring, information on local wildlife, etc). We had a nice meal, which was quickly delivered...More

A masive 18 miles of pebble beach along the South coast - an amazing natural site not to be missed. The cafe was excellent with a good choice of well prepared food.

Centre great with good information and child friendly activities. Cafe well run and friendly prompt service. Good range of snacks and meals on menu
