My husband & I recently visited Golden Cap after parking in the nearby Langdon Woods car park. This was free for us at NT members. The walk was quite steep in places, climbing lots of steps, but wasn’t far & was very easy. The weather...More

It is some time since we climbed to the top of Golden Cap which is the highest point on the south coast. The longer route is to follow the marked footpath from Seatown. Seatown is signposted off the A35 in Chideock. Unless it's no longer...More

It has been two years since the last trek up to the top of Golden Cap. The climb is vastly improved by thoughtful steps before reaching the summit leaving out the scrabble through the bracken! Far less challenging. An astonishing view awaits you! Parking can...More

We walked up from the Anchor Inn at Seatown. As expected the path was very steep in some places but good underfoot, it took about 40 minutes to the summit. Unfortunately it was a cloudy day so we had no view from the top, but...More

The views from the top of golden cap were indeed staggering. It was a stiff climb, but well worth it as the outlook along the magnificent coast line were wonderful. Unfortunately the car park attendant was extremely unpleasant, and rude.

We walked from Charmouth to West Bay and this was the high point in both sense of the word. Really breath taking views. A real must.

Waking from the Golden Cap carpark, there is a (approximately) 45 minute walk (30 if you’re quick) through quiet woodland to get to the summit. And my god, what a view. Dramatic cliffs and endless oceans; I found myself stood for a good 5 minutes...More

Walked to the top of the Golden Cap and it’s well worth it. The views across the bays are amazing and it’s a great photo opportunity. This place is a must if you’re in the area.

Hi James, The best way is to park in Langdon Woods (NT car park) and then walk through the woods (go straight on in the direction you have driven into the car park). After a fairly short flat walk you will see a signpost on... More

All of these answers are good - it depends which way you prefer to approach from. If you walk from the west (Charmouth) towards Seatown you'll have earned a pint there at the Anchor Inn right by the beach and good food too... More
