I like the Battery Gardens and can imagine what it was like to be there in WW2. The little museum is run by volunteers and adds much to the experience. Well worth a visit

An interesting collection of WWII artifacts with passionate volunteers able to add very interesting facts. You can then wander around the site and try to discover the battery remains.

Visited with family on a Friday afternoon, once located we visited the museum (free entry) and was surprised at the content they had collected. Very knowledgable volunteers talked us round the museum and we even got to handle some of the equipment too. A brilliant...More

Interesting little museum in a lovely spot above town. A good few exibits to explore, with fishcombe cove and battery park close by. Really worth a visit.
