About
We have been making unique porcelain and stoneware in Roundstone since 1981. Rosemarie O'Toole decorates porcelain thrown by her husband Seamus Laffan. She also makes an extensive range of porcelain jewellery. Her artwork on paper is available framed and unframed. A wide range of durable handmade tiles decorated by Rosemarie is on offer & we can design plaques for house names or business use. We also make a wide range of distinctive domestic stoneware and are happy to take on orders for same. Our work is available exclusively from our studio, opening daily 10-6. Off season please ring to confirm but we are there most days. It should not be confused with the imported industrial ware sold as ' Roundstone Pottery ' throughout the country since 2011, which has no connection with us or this village.

Potter Magic and Beauty in Roundstone, Connemara
Sep 2020 • Family
No visit to Roundstone is complete without a trip to Roundstone Ceramics. We love the products created here. Each time we go, we bring back something else a little bit special.

Seamus and Rosemary are gracious artists and willing to share the processes of their work. Being able to see the work, hear of the process and browse with no pressure or sense of obligation is wonderful. It is no surprise that the two have an international reputation. We have purchased everything from jewellery and bud vases, to egg cups, coffee cups and oil burners.

Can't wait for our next visit to pick up something else lovely. Highly recommend a stop off. The feel of the products is gorgeous but sipping a hot cup of Irish tea from one, especially brings back your memories of holidays in Roundstone, no matter where in the world you are.

You'll find them, down in the Monastery Commercial Centre, at the top of the village.

What a delight to find this pottery studio, of Seamus & Rosemary and their ceramics, with a touch of earth & visions of nature, spent the day deciding which of their pieces couldn't be resisted & listening to homely bantering, watching Seamus on the wheel and Rosemary sketch out clips of nature, & time forgotten, hidden away on the ruins of a monestry

We recently phoned Seamus the Potter and asked him to send us 2 teacups. They were beautifully decorated by Rose and made excellent gifts. Much appreciated by the recepients.

A little treasure
Jul 2019
The shop is so small that while looking for it, we walked past it the first time without realising it was there. Inside it's a small but wonderful array of beauty - from tiny pieces to big show stoppers. Not cheap, but for hand-crafted excellence it wouldn't be.

Stunning work and fantastic owners/artists
Aug 2019
After seeing the beautiful pieces used to serve us at our bed and breakfast, we were told to venture to Roundstone Ceramics for a peek at the other work produced there. Upon arriving first thing in the morning, owners and artists Rosemarie and Seamus were already at work. My mother and I spent about an hour perusing the shop, and discussing at length about our travels and other topics with this truly lovely couple. Though we could not take back big pieces (such as the many stunning lamps), we acquired delicately painted jewelry for ourselves and friends, as well as a few small vases and animals to remind us of this beautiful shop.

Parking is plentiful and nearby. The shop is just through the archway and on the right.

Don't be afraid that they aren't open, the doorway looks dim, but if the door is open, go on in! You will be delighted in the beautiful work they do, and the personal touches each piece has.

Rosemarie took the time to carefully wrap our purchases with bubble and tissue, and I'm happy to say all made it back to the states (and three security checkpoints) without breaking!

Amazing little shop full of beautiful ceramics
Jun 2019 • Friends
Rosemarie and Seamus were actively working when we visited, but took the time to explain to all of us crowded into the little shop about their craft. Seamus throws and Rosemarie paints--a perfect partnership. The variety and designs were delightful. I so wish I could've taken the bowl and lamp with me, but I doubt they would've made it. Still I managed to get several trivets and a small vase home safely. If you can make the stop and love pottery, a must stop!

We visited with Rosemarie and Seamus, both were delightful. Everyone in our group bought some unique, wonderful reminders of this quaint village and beautiful country. I like the one of the pieces I bought the vase so much that I regret not buying the matching pieces. The earring will be worn often. The other pieces were given as gifts and very much appreciated. Well worth a visit!!

A must see in Roundstone!!
Dec 2018
We cant say enough about our visit to Roundstone Ceramics. Seamus is so talented and we wanted to buy everything in the shop. There were so many beautiful pieces it took us some time to pick. As we shopped Seamus made mugs and it was so neat to actually see the ceramics being made. We will definitely be back!

Pottery with a difference
Dec 2018 • Couples
It would be hard not to be impressed at the wonderful art work, colours and designs that are made before your eyes in this small family run workshop. We had a lovely chat with Rosemaire, who makes the designs and hand paints the pottery. I was particularly impressed with her array of magnificent Rooks! Well worth a visit.

Beautiful hand made lamp
Jun 2018 • Solo
Visited here to buy a gift, Seamus and Ross are so helpful and everything is handmade there - so many beautiful pieces to choice from. I left with a beautiful lamp that was made by Seamus and painted by Ross. The receiver of the gift loved it. Thank you. Totally recommend this place as a place to buy some real beautiful pottery pieces .
