As we drove through Elizabethton we stopped briefly to walk around and through the covered bridge. The area around it is well maintained and it was a fun place to stop while in this area of Tennessee.

I have no idea why anyone would rate the bridge as less than five. Its a beautiful place. People do not appreciate the covered bridge except for those that grew up here .

Congrats to the city for taking care of this covered bridge! We seek these bridges out as we travel and often they are covered in graffiti or are simply just not maintained at all. This one is nice and worth a visit. Historic downtown is close by too with a few antique type stores that are worth a visit while visiting the bridge. We enjoyed our visit and think you would too. This town is pretty good size, we had never spent any time here so was surprised by how much was in this town!

The covered bridge and the area around it are well maintained. There are also picnic tables nearby if you wanted to picnic here. Would recommend it to those who like covered bridges.

Very nice old bridge, well maintained. If you take a walk in the neighborhood of the bridge there are some really old large houses to look at. Some have been redone. I wouldn't plan an excursion just to see the bridge but its worth a look if youre in the area.

Our friend, born and raised in this town gave us a tour of the town after eating lunch in a cafe downtown. A lot of history here, bridge built on 1800’s. No longer strong enough for driving across, but you can walk over. This bridge is over the Doe River. You can walk here from the downtown area , which is also a neat place to visit the shops there.

A great place to stop and take a Look-See. There are not too many covered bridges left in the United State of America.

This is a beautiful covered bridge. It was built in 1882 & actually needs some improvements now due to the fact that it’s leaning. It cost the town $3000 to build this way back then! It’s a wonderful spot to stop & slow down. You can walk from one end to the other. It crosses The Doe River. And it’s located in downtown Elizabethton.

When i was very young, we lived in a house just at the end of this bridge. That was back when you could still drive through it. Many times, my older brother and i would walk through it on our way to the theater. I have very fond memories of that time and place, miss it so.
