Found this shop a few months ago, bought a couple of books and coffee mug on that visit. This is our second trip. Purchased another book and mug. (Love these mugs!)
Love the experience of the shop. The owners are very friendly and passionate about books. Prices are competitive and the selection is wonderful for a smaller shop.
We live in north Alabama and visit middle Tennessee often. This is going to be a regular stop on our drives. Highly recommended!

I love this place. They have a great selection, a wonderful atmosphere, and friendly and helpful staff. They're always willing to special order what they don't already have.

What a delightful find while strolling around Columbia's courthouse square. It is a small space, but the owners have made clever use of it, creating special spaces to appeal to various age groups. For the kiddies, there is a magical bower of branches strung with faerie lights. I witnessed the magical effect -- a ~6 year old chortled with delight as she played among the shelves of children's books. For teens, there is a secluded loft, accessible by a rondel of stairs. Up here, away from the grownups and little kids are the sci fi, horror, comics, and young adult fiction. For those of my age, who need to rest their bones, there is a most comfy trio of decadent sofas, arranged so one could converse.... if not for all the interesting reading matter at hand.

The selection of books is well curated, with the best of recent publications sprinkled with charming, quirky, and interesting used books. No age discrimination here!

Tip: Once you've purchased your selections, there's a great ice cream store at the corner of square to sit and read them while enjoying the most chocolately milk shake on the planet.

Love this book store! Kids love climbing the small, winding stairway to the top to scope out the comics. Enjoyed our visit very much.

Went in with my daughter, to look around. They have lots of older books you can't find other places, and the staff is always friendly to us. It may be a smaller place, but it is well worth visiting. I have bought books there on several occasions, and will continue to go back.

Don’t go too out of your way. Prices are a bit high and selection is eclectic to say the least. Very strangely set up, very tight stairs going up to the second floor. It’s cool there’s a bookstore in this small town though. Organization is weird - authors are split into different sections. You might find the same author in the fantasy area, the mystery suspense area and then the romance area. Give yourself time to look.

I gave them four stars because I emailed to ask if they were open on a holiday and they responded within the hour. That’s pretty good service.

Also to the reviewer who said the place is anti-lgbt/conservative - they did have practitioner books on Wicca, which I really didn’t expect in the Bible Belt. I didn’t have any negative vibes on my sexuality, but maybe it’s easier for women rather than men, not sure the gender of the person who posted that review. I wouldn’t avoid as lgbt just for being lgbt but agree they probably won’t have specific items related. Their foreign language section was like six books total. Lol.

This isn’t where you go for something specific. This is a place to stop in and wander.

Nice bookshop with lots of charm. My daughter & I love to look around here. Unfortunately, the books are a bit higher than Amazon so we usually order online. The people are always friendly & willing to order if they don’t have something.

The staff is inconsiderate. When I asked about LGBT selection, they scoffed and said that stuff wasn't available "in this town" - was very disappointed in selection they had regarding any current topics. Very conservative book store and selection.

The bookstore, which should be a quiet place, as apartments on top of it, and an office below it, which shouldn't matter, but the ceiling is paper thin, and you can clearly hear everything going on in the loft above it, televisions on, playing loud shows in the middle of the day. It was creating an environment not suitable for a bookstore.

This indie bookstore, despite its smallish size, has a lot to offer. It’s beautifully laid out, full yet remarkably comfortable. The owner, who has always been at the register when I’ve visited, is super friendly and knowledgeable. He’s definitely passionate about all things literary. A section in the front of the store is dedicated to local authors, which shows he’s a true supporter of the arts. If you’re in Columbia, this bookstore is a must see!

We visited DRB shortly after Harvey "visited" Houston and family members visited wth us. We were showing them Columbia City/Maury County Square.
The book store has new and gently read/used books. There is a children's section that was well-stocked. The sci-fi and graphic novel sections less so. The books are fairly well displayed. There are five to six shelves per wall and unfortunately the top two shelves cannot be easily reached without a ladder or step stool. There was only one person "minding the store" when we visited and we did not want to impose as he did not seem very friendly. There was ample seating to page through books if so inclined. In general, it was a pleasant place to visit. There are very few bookstores in Maury county so we will likely return.
