A very interesting park that has survived 2 hurricanes in the past few years. Yes, lots of downed trees, but the beauty of palms on the beach front with exposed root balls. Fascinating. A very nice campground and staff was very friendly Is a bit...More

We took a day trip to Hunting Island State Park while staying in Beaufort. We enjoyed walking on the beach and went up in the lighthouse. Great day!

We did not know of this state park and happened upon it. The drift wood and Spanish moss were South Carolina at its best. Wow! I'm so glad the state has preserved this place.

Wild and rustic, but with plenty of walking trails. Charming gift shop with shirts, refreshments and local lore near the lighthouse. Impressive driftwood beach.

Worth going if you want some ocean side time. Some interesting history and beautiful Nature. There is a lighthouse that you can climb to the top of that gives you fabulous views.

Just an amazing park. We were there on a Sunday morning and a little rainy. Beach was so nice and was amazing to see all the devastation from the hurricanes! We climbed the lighthouse and enjoyed that so much. Would love to camp here.

walk up the light house for great views. Covered areas and great beach walks. Some prior storm damage that was being cleaned up. There is a small admission charge.

My wife and I took a drive and ended-up here on a whim. They are still rebuilding from hurricane damage but it is worth a visit at any time. Unlike Myrtle-Beach and Hilton-Head and worth the visit. A great place to take the family; the...More

We were not able to visit on this vacation due to storm related damage. However have on previous trips. There is good camping, and during low tide one can walk from Harbor to Hunting.

Same as the other responder, Hunting Island will be closed until early 2018 due to Irma, not sure if sites have been washed out or reconfigured, so may want to check back next year.

Just saw on The Beaufort Gazette's Facebook today page that due to Irma the island is going to be closed for the rest of the year. It's taken a big hit the past year with storms. I suggest monitoring their website and... More

The park as well as the beach is closed. They will not allow you to go on the beach. Besides, it would be very dangerous.
