preferred over the Big Blowhole
Jan 2021
My young children (4 to 9 years of age) could have spent a whole day here at low tide exploring the rock poles - obviously under the close supervision of responsible adults.

At high tide, you can hear and see the water shooting up the hole in the rocks - quiet mesmerizing at times.

Not as much safety fencing around, so be aware.

Small but mighty

This little blowhole consistently outdoes its big brother for performance. Head on over for an uncrowded experience, and be prepared to get wet!

Good additional natural attraction - worth a look

A short drive around the headland from the main Kiama blowhole. Easy to access with parking. Definitely worth a look as the rocks are spectacular and you feel closer than at the main Kiama blowhole. It is smaller though and (unlike the main Kiama blowhole) no cafe, toilets or other facilities. Often the little blowhole is active if the main one is not, so worth keeping in mind.

Just as good as the big one

You might think it’s not worth going here if you’ve already seen the big blowhole but it’s totally worth the little drive into the quieter residential/retirement area. For a smaller spurt it still makes quite a noise and it’s at a safer level than the big one so you can scramble around on the rocks a bit to explore

A beautiful setting

The blowhole was good but made better by the views from there. We didn’t get very wet but it was fun

Better than the Kiama blowhole!
Nov 2020
Prepare to get a bit wet if it's a windy day! The Little Blowhole is amazing and much better than the main Kiama Blowhole. It spurted water more often and more dramatically which was great to see. Less tourists too.

High narrow spout

I've been to Kiama several times over many years and hadn't heard about this blowhole. Is a short drive in residential streets south of city centre, easy to find and plenty of parking plus uncrowded. 'Little' refers to the much smaller circumference opening through which the water sprays to a much higher height than the 'big' and much more famous harbourside blowhole. Very consistent and frequent spurts during our visit. No charge to visit.

A hidden gem - brilliant !

A hidden gem, known to locals. We were recommended to visit the Little Blowhole by Motel 617 and it didn't disappoint. It was spectacular - with the blowhole so close - the force, sound, shot of water! Loved it.

Blow me over!

Lovely spot on the coast and we found it pretty fun as the kids could get closer to it than the big blowhole and get a bit wet which all kids have a fascination for (be careful though as rocks can be slippy and waves unpredictable but safe enough if a calm day)
