Bourke more than many takes you back to NSW's expansion over the Blue Mountains.They had to go through Bourke.Take the time to walk past the Mosque to Fred Hollows resting place.

We spent a wonderful few hours walking through the cemetery visiting the graves of family members. The graves were well kept even though it was extremely dry from drought.

There is a lot of history here. To learn more about historical and inspirational people buried here before you arrive, I recommend visiting the Back O’ Bourke Exhibition Center first where some who are buried at the cemetery get a memorable and insightful mention, such...More

If you are interested in history, a walk around the Bourke cemetery is a must. I find the Fred Hollows information board very interesting. A remarkable man.

Loved looking at all the old graves to get a true insight into how the early settlers lived and died. Fred Hollows grave is a must see and lovely tribute to a wonderful man.

Obtain a cemetery brochure info pamphlet from the tourist information office and do the Back O'Bourke Exhibition before visiting the cemetery. Gives location and context to the history within the grounds. Fred Hollows grave may the reason most people visit here but we enjoyed the...More

We went here to specifically find Fred Hollows' grave. Wasn't hard just follow the signs. Very interesting.
