Located out in the countryside, we visited in late afternoon in November, when the sun was low in the sky, lighting up one side of the buildings with its golden light; and creating evocative silhouttes on the other. Three of the engine houses remain from...More

Went for several nice walks around the old engine houses. the walk is dog friendly with poo bins at the start of the walk. Here's a car park opposite the entrance. Useful information boards on past mining activity. Great views.

We had a week in Cornwall last month and we liked to go out and about in the Redruth area. Wheal Peavor was a good walk, excellent views and very evocative of the bye gone days of tin mining.

Interesting place and as others have said it's a nice walk with a dog except for others who don't clean up after their dogs. Perhaps there should be a dog poo alert app similar to those who park badly in Cornwall. Which leads me to...More

Lovely place for walking although rather spoilt by dog poo. Beautiful and as long or short as you want. Beautiful nature area with lots of old mining buildings to explore

A well preserved mine site. Would recommend a visit as there are few sites with as many engine houses in one place. Great views over the Redruth mining area too.

How can pet owners allow such a wonderful historic place be spoilt by not clearing up after them? I'm not talking the odd pile, it is everywhere and in vast amounts. Anyone who is local and reading this really must campaign to put an end...More

Interesting site with sign boards explaining the site and processes. Be careful, this is not a play area, there are plenty of trip and slip hazards. Good place for taking pictures although not the easiest place to get the perfect angle. There is a small...More
