Everything was very good and I was absorbed in the displays, HOWEVER, the mine tour was very disappointing, just a route through a cramped, dark tunnel. Not a lot to see, lasted about 20 minutes. I would strongly advise going to Poldark Mine for the Deep...More

Visiting Geevor should be on your list for attractions in Cornwall... the site is clean, well maintained and exceptionally informative. There are examples of mining throughout the ages and as part of your entrance fee, you're taken on a tour of a small 18th Century...More

This is a ways out there but it’s well worth it. The museum is full of information about Cornwall’s mining industry. All of the workers we encountered were happy to talk and answer all of our questions. The visit includes a tour of an old...More

Allow a good half day to get round this site - there’s lots to see, from the industrial remnants, to the museum and systems explaining how the tin is mined, and the old buildings, including the evocative locker room ‘the dry’. Also the underground tour,...More

In the Cafe it was About the poorest level of service I have experienced anywhere. A shame because the Geevor Tin Mine is an important part of our local heritage. The staff were sullen, slow, and disinterested. The menu was well written and the prices...More

Cornwall's mining history is extensive and the landscape littered with material remains of the mining industry. Touring Geevor mine gives you a strong sense of the past. The beautiful coastal setting makes a marked contrast to the story of the mines. After the tour, there...More

I only visited Geevor and the tour has been described perfectly already. I agree with Neil that your daughter will be fine here and you'll all enjoy your visit

If you only have time for one I would recommend Geevor but they are so close to each other, only around a ten minute walk along the coast, it is easy to do both in one visit.

We were there about 3 and a half hours, lots to read and look at, the highlight was the trip down the mine which took up at least an hour.
