This gives you a real flavour of wartime, with lots of information about what happened in Stockport from contemporary sources. An interesting thing to do on a rainy afternoon in the north-west. I would have liked to know more about how they managed the sanitation...More

Very interesting experience to walk through the tunnels built during WWII to protect residents of Manchester and the surrounding areas. The tunnels are around one mile long (you don't walk through all of it) and held around 6,000 people at the peak of the war....More

Spent a couple of hours visiting the shelters - it was really good - the little hand held tour devices they give you work perfectly so touring solo is great - Amazing place - very informative - a must do visit. Really enjoyed it!

An excellent self guided tour. The hand held voice guide was easy to use and allowed one to visit the shelters at a leisurely pace. The shelters were really interesting and the museum successfully gave a good picture of the fright of war.

A look into history , see how people used the air raid shelters in the blitz hear the air raid siren , it is very cold in the shelters so make sure to dress up well , a bit pricey but worth a visit ...

Well we all knew it happened , but this museum gives us a tiny insight of how awful this time was. Incredible brave people who sheltered here .So pleased we came on this visit.

It depends which tour you choose the standard self guided which is shorter would not be to bad as its mostly flatish but it depends how bad your walking problem is. The longer guided with them is quite a lot longer and more... More
