Unfortunately could not go to Stockport mersy way shops as car park entrance broken so you coudnt enter. Unfortunately no other car parks available. An absolute disgrace ...... poor shops must be doing hardly any trade at all.

Stockport Market is one of those you can just spend ten minutes walking round in your lunch and just take in what there is to offer Or, you can try to get in one of the pubs on Foodie Friday, good luck with that one!...More

I am absolutely devastated by the reviews on here speaking of 'not worth bothering' and 'dire.' I am a small business owner myself and understand the importance of our local small businesses, these traders are on a constant up-hill battle against the council and the...More

Lovely old indoor market hall, housing numerous quite unique stalls. Not your usual market tat, some quality items sit well within an overall wide range of goods. A very eye-catching structure both inside and out, always worth a visit.

Stockport's spacious market hall dominates the historic area near St Mary's church and the Staircase House Museum. It is a huge iron and glass structure housing rows of market stalls and was used as a film location in Yanks (Richard Gere). When I visited recently...More

A market sadly declining because lazy unimaginative traders are unwilling to embrace change. The product offering is dire and the hours and days the traders are willing to make themselves available is frankly laughable.

Yes, we know the market itself has dwindled a lot since the 80s - but if I'm honest, I remember the 80s market well and it was dirty and had a lot of tat. We were there on Saturday and there were still market stalls...More

A once busy bustling market completely destroyed by bumbling councillors. They should be ashamed. Not worth bothering.

Have to say the 'foodie Friday' they do which is the last Friday in the month is excellent. Wide selection of foods and beers from around the world and a really friendly atmosphere to suit, rivals altrincham market in my opinion
