Hard to review this as an attraction as in reality this is a modern burial ground. However, I love visiting Long Barrows in the Wiltshire area and this one is stunning. I was driving past and saw the sign so had no knowledge of it...More

Having read about the The Long Barrow at All Cannings being a modern day long barrow for the interment of ashes, I've been wanting to visit for a while. I left feeling very underwhelmed compared to recent visits to other local historical long barrows (West...More

My mother died earlier this month, however she was so pleased that she had managed to obtain a 'niche' for her and Dad, who died in 1999. The Long Barrow has been built to an excellent standard and the outside gives no indication of the...More

Spotted this long barrow from the canal and was surprised it wasn't better signed. Then I discovered it's a modern day burial chamber for ashes. Yep it's well sited and an impressive structure but nothing there explaining anything about it just a note to visit...More

Glad you were impressed and I hope you enjoyed the views from it. It's tricky knowing how much signage to put, too much and they overpower the place, so I thought a link to the website was enough. Sorry if you would have liked more.

The last time I visited the Long Barrow was about four years ago. I love it. It is one of the few places one can feel how it must have been when it was created. This visit was on the first of November. There were...More

Hi - I'm not sure you have the right Long Barrow - I think it may have been West Kennet Long Barrow you visited as this one wasn't built four years ago and didn't have any pagan tributes etc in it. All the best Tim

Didn't take to the couple who run it, something about them. Not convinced it's going to be particularly well cared for in years to come. Probably just me. Sorry.More

I quite understand if it "isn't for you" but I can assure you and other visitors that anything that has been built with such care and love, and will be my final resting place, is obviously going to be looked after to the best of...More

Hi, thanks for visiting and I'm pleased the Long Barrow seems part of the landscape. It is actually less than a year old , rather than being an ancient monument. It is really encouraging to read you review as it shows it is at ease...More

A modern Longbarrow seems a wonderful idea to our family. Set in a beautiful environment between Pewsey and Devizes, this offers families the opportunity to inter their loved one's ashes in a wonderfully crafted Longbarrow. We purchased a family "Niche" which could take around 6...More
