These locks are well worth a visit, lovely walk up the side of the locks, either up or down or if very energetic both ways. The tea room is well worth a visit, specially for the ice cream.

So lucky to have this AMAZING piece of engineering close to home. We have walked up and left but not tried 'down the hill'. We will do this over the summer months. Lovely spot to while away an afternoon.

The Caen Hill flight of locks is an amazing experience (pronounced "cane hill"). It is a true masterpiece of Victorian engineering brought back to operating order and extremely well maintained. It is well worth a visit

A beautiful location to walk alongside the Kennet & Avon Canal and see how the boats can travel up and downhill over such a short distance. We didn't catch any boats using the locks unfortunately, but the weather was very pleasant so we definitely enjoyed...More
