Good menu, tasty dishes. Service was a bit erratic at times and they didn’t have a great choice for alcohol free diners, but it’s an attractive, lively venue and great for a bit of celeb spotting

Great food and great coffee! Service is a bit slow, but such is life in Nicaragua! Shouldn't be in a rush, it will all get done eventually.....

Great place to chill out and enjoy a cool drink, read and just relax with some cooling fans in the really colorful atmosphere at El Gato Negro. We needed a break from sightseeing and this was a great bookstore / cafe to do it in!

So I think I reviewed the coffee shop at El Gato Negro previously. This is a classic used bookstore and coffee shop that is modeled after a lot of the coffee shops and bookstores you find on the west coast. Its a great little placed,...More

Solid brunch food. Chill patio in the back. Pricing aren't cheap but for the quality it's worth a try. French toast was great

Well.... In a nutshell, the establishment is awesome, but the staff are not. From the outside, the happy little purple shop appears to be the perfect place to bring your laptop and hang out, or to choose a book from their large library, and hang...More

I was looking forward to the coffee at El Gato Negro, thinking with such a cozy looking place, beans roasted on site and a beautiful espresso machine, the coffee had to be good. I was sadly mistaken. The ladies making the drinks gave the impression...More

This place has the best coffee in town, and their breakfast food is quite good (though all on the carby side). My only frustration was the service. Some days it was neither good nor bad, other days you wondered how you could have offended the...More

This is a quirky little cafe, make sure that you try the amazing brownie. During our stay we sampled a number tasty bagel combinations. Their smoothies are also really delicious.
