The museum has wonderful artifacts, photos and displays and it I see presented as a narrative, before, during and after the civil war. Excellent photographic exhibits. And concise accounts of the battles.

This is a wonderful museum. It is top notch from top to bottom. You will need at least 2 hours to fully enjoy the entire museum. This is the best Civil War museum outside of Gettysburg. The collection on hand was fantastic.

We just visited the National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg. I must say I was amazed just how much the place had to offer. Tons of war artifacts and stories also. Reasonably priced too. Located at a beautiful location

The best place to start would be to contact the US Army Heritage & Education Center in Carlisle, PA and check one of their reference bibliographies on the 21st PA Calvary. I hope this helps!
