I had read that this is the second largest stature made of the same materials as the Statue of Liberty. #1 is, of course, the largest. The building she’s on is being renovated and I’m lucky she wasn’t covered up, as she was when other family members visited. She’s simply mind-boggling! I’m posting one of my photos that includes some people on the street below her. She’s definitely worth the effort to find her. Her right hand actually extends out from the building, so it looks as if she’s reaching out to you. I can’t figure out how to rotate the images, sorry!…

Located above the entrance of the Portland Building is this massive copper repousse - in fact, it’s the world’s second largest (#1 is the Statue of Liberty)! It is best viewed from across the street - even better if you can travel up several floors inside the building across the street. Be sure to read the information plaque and accompanying poem.…

Portlandia’s under wraps until sometime in 2020. Our guide suggested that the statue should be relocated to a more viewable location. As is, it’s a bit like searching the skyline for Batman. It’s best visible from the third floor of the building across the street.

March 24, 2019 Construction signs say the building remodel should be finished sometime in 2020. There is a small plaque across the street showing what the statue looks like, and a small model in an upper window of the building right behind the plaque, but the statue itself is covered while the building is being remodeled.…
