Here’s the thing. Most of the reviews I read before posting this seemed to be written by Portlanders or nearby natives. Many people, it seems, have a fondness, a feeling of nostalgia, or maybe (on the other end) are feeling like it is too expensive, compared to when they came years ago. I am writing this review as someone who has lived in a few other states and has visited other amusement parks, fairs, and attraction-type parks (water parks, etc).
Keep your expectations very low, and you might be fine. I think if you are young or have little kids, you are probably better-off for OP as well. There are definitely some spinning, flipping, “make you sick” rides that teens might enjoy, too. They need more and better food options, some general cleaning and updating, and some TLC for the restrooms and the poor roller rink. That place just straight-up smells like feet! It was really gross. Oregon and Washington have no major amusement parks and only a few small ones here and there. So. If you live up here, there just are not great choices for people looking for places to ride rides.

It was fun but a bit underwhelming. To many people in such a small park. The lines are very long especially for the roller coaster considering how short of a ride it is. If they were to expand and have more roller coasters I think it would be more worthwhile. There’s to many rides for little kids and not enough rides for teens and adults.

It was raining when I was there, but the rides were still open. I spent all of my time at the roller skating rink, which I enjoyed very much. The staff were exceptionally helpful and gracious with new skaters and made sure everyone stayed safe. The live organ music is a nice and unique touch.

I remember when rides used to scare you rather than make you feel sick. Line for race cars was too long. I would have tried a few more rides but wasn't feeling well after a couple, also a bit tired before I came thought getting out would help me snap out of it, but not those rides

I visited Oaks in October during their haunted event. The haunted event was not great with boring haunts, so I am going to separate that from the normal year round park. The park itself is a nice traditional amusement park. The main roller coaster, Adrenaline Peak, is a lot of fun if not a bit short. Don't forget about the kiddie coaster as it has some surprise thrills. There are some classic flat rides to fill the park out including a great Rock-O-Plane. The carousel has some fun animals, but it lacks the classic organ music for some reason. I did not use the rink, but that looks like a really nice feature. Overall, this is a decent classic amusement park. It's by far not a perfect park, but it does what it can in a limited amount of space. A dark ride would really give this park a boost. Check it out if you have time. If you don't, you can miss it and not feel too bad. And don't bother with the haunt.

Spring Break at Oaks Park was great time for the family. The parking lot was very full. There were lines for rides and food. But everyone was polite and friendly. We had a wonderful experience showing our grandson 3 year old a fun day. He loves the slide and other rides. The cheese burgers were nothing to go back for, but the curly fries were excellent. The staff were polite and helpful.

Long story short. I showed up for a birthday party at 345pm and spent over $50 on bracelets. I looked around for a sign to tell me what time they close but couldn't find one. I figured I would at least have 2 to 3 hours before they close. I was wrong. After saying hi to the birthday girl we get on one ride then hear an announcement that the park closes at 5pm. Angry, I let my wife take my kids on another ride while I go ask for some kind of refund. After searching for the right person for 45min I found the guy. He belittled me and talked to me like I was a child. After arguing with the guy that I would not have paid that much money knowing we would only get to rides he tells me no refunds. So I post my experience on facebook to bring awareness to what happened and the replied saying they would be in contact with me soon. They then deleted my post. I will not be going back because the customer service is terrible.

A visit at the Oaks Amusement Park is like a quick trip back in time. Lots of old school rides and activities in a scenic setting!
What's good:
- No admission & plenty of free parking
- You can buy tickets in small increments (no day pass needed)
- Picnic tables right next to the river! Scenic view of Portland.
- It's pretty close to downtown - easy access.
- Rides for all ages and interests.
- General "good old times" atmosphere with old rides.
- Manageable size. Easy to walk around and enjoy.
- You can reserve tables/halls for parties.
What might need improvement:
- Not too much choice of food. But then again, that's not the point.
- The go-kart course is a bit small.
In summary, it's a great place to go on a sunny afternoon and give your kid the kinds of great memories you still have of amusement parks.

I wish I could give this place a good review because me and my kids had so much fun on all the rides this was our first time ther as a family due to my husband company picnic but I just could not beleave some of the things that came out of the mouths of the people that worked ther i did not notice it until it became dark it was like all the workers attitudes changed I know they probly have to put up with alot of these punks that go to cause trouble but ther also are alot of young kids around and familys ther to have a good time and the things me and my children had to listen too due to the fact that the workers would sit ther and cuss at kids that wher cuting in line wich I think is totally wrong I dont think any one working ther should be able to use such language while getting paid I just couldn't beleave they would sit ther and get in yelling matches with lil punk kids not even caring that ther is lil kids around and all they do is make the situation worse its like the workers enjoy fighting with these children not even caring about others that have to stand ther in line and lisen to the filth from ther mouths I just was shocked and verry disappointed that my kids and other children had to hear this even when we wernt waitn in line we had to hear this lady that was Saling stuff right across from the arcade she was bigger and middle aged siting ther cusing at children in the arcade she was very loud about it . I know I definitely wont be back due to this experience and will warn all parents with young children not to go

....don't bother to visit. There are plenty of things in Portland to do. For native's it's one of the closest amusement parks. It's fun but geared towards younger children. The roller rink is a nice touch and is included with some wrist bands. Recently, they have added a short mini-golf course.
In the Pacific Northwest there are not many amusement parks. If you want high, fast roller coasters this is not your park. The thrill rides are pretty average for adults and teens. But it is fun to visit during festivals or with friends.

How many tickets does the roller coaster take for a ride?
Written 25 August 2019
It takes 1 special Adrenaline Peak Ticket. Adrenaline Peak tickets are $9.95 each. It's also included on the Premier Ride Bracelet, which gives you unlimited rides for $40.95, as well as unlimited rides on all the other attractions.

When is their least busy time? Went there today, last day of long weekend. It was too crowded. even a line for bathroom. Had to run away.
Written 3 September 2018
It was crazy crowded this weekend because of the Labor Day Picnics happening. This weekend and the Fourth of July are their busiest. Any other time should be pretty good. They won't be open during the week for much longer, but the upcoming weekends probably won't be too bad at all.

There are some first come, first served picnic tables that you can use for free on the west edge of the park. Other picnic areas have a fee to rent.

Yes, dogs are allowed as long as leashed and attended at all times. Animals cannot go on attractions.
