Unless you want to be naked there is nothing here for you! Just a bunch of nude people! I want to have a nice time in thw sunshine but there is nowhere here to just relax with my family of 8.

We were out to Cascade Licks in Labor Day to buy fresh caught salmon, so we stopped on the way back for a dip in the Columbia River at Rooster Rock. I have been here several times over the years. It’s a great park for a picnic and an ideal spot for a cool swim. Yeah, there’s a clothing optional area but that’s way far away from where the families and kids play and picnic in the sand. On a warm weekend expect lots of people but the park is huge and there is a lot of parking.

Long walk to get out to the water but worth it once you get there. There is also an island with sand dunes that you can swim or float to. Most people will be nude, but not everybody.

One of the very few clothing optional beaches in our country, Rooster Rock State Park is also known for its sandy beaches and extremely beautiful surroundings. Here, Columbia River is rather wide so that water is smooth; walking in the shallow water as the gentle wind kisses your face, it is delightful to cool off during the summer hot day. At the east end of the park is the Sand Island where you will see some sand dunes as high as 40 feet. This part of the beach is even more peaceful as it is more than a mile from the park’s entrance although the trails have minimum vertical changes. I saw a few osprey nests where adult birds were busy feeding their babies. I also saw a few Great Blue Herons that were feeding in nearby ponds. Parking is plentiful. Day pass of $5.00 is required. Highly recommended.

We stopped here out of curiosity on a trip to Multnomah Falls in mid March.
The views were beautiful, if a bit spartan. The river had receded significantly from the point I've seen in other photos, so it was cool to walk along the docks over the reeds without getting at all wet.
There was a distinct lack of information or signposts however, so it took us a while to even figure out where we were!

We did a spur of the moment stop at this park and it did not disappoint us. Parking is five dollars. Plenty of parking space and very clean restrooms. We took a stroll near the Columbia River and it really awed us with the scenic view of the spectacular river and mountains. It was super windy that afternoon but well worth the view and the visit.

My first visit to rooster Rock State Park.....a gorgeous sunny, warm day. I hiked out to the east end of the park to soak up some rays. A wide variety of people from all different persuasions had the same idea. The park is big enough for us all with room to spare.

Loved coming here and the sights and smells of the area, very strong gusts in excess of 50 mph. Help wind surfers. And kite flyers. Goodcdoitbfirvtakingboucturesxandcstunning vistas

Due to a full parking lot at Multnomah Falls, we exited the freeway at Rooster Rock State Park in order to pay $5 to park and take the hourly shuttle to the falls. While waiting for the bus, we walked down to the Columbia River and admired some fall foliage. There is also a children’s playground, picnic tables, and parking spaces.

Cruising up the Gorge to checkout the fall colors, we stopped off in Rooster Rock State Park. Its large and expansive parking lots and picnic areas were almost abandoned, unlike the summer months when it is crowded with beach goers and picnickers. The spectacular fall colors decorated the trees in the park and the surrounding hills with day glow yellow, orange and red colors. Excellent views of the cloud draped mountains and wide rivers were illuminated by a light show from veiled clouds covering and then revealing the sun light. Gorgeous (ok, pun intended).
