I went to Latourell Falls last week to hike, so I was in George W. Joseph State Natural Area while hiking. It is located at the south end of Talbot Park. Just take the trail from Guy W. Talbot Park. This is the trail staring from the parking lot just east of the bridge at Latourell Falls on the old Scenic Gorge Highway.

The trail is pave up to the first observation point. Once you get to the top area of Latourell Falls, this is where George W. Joseph State Natural Area starts. The trail continues back to Upper Latourell Falls running on the east side of the stream (Latourell Creek).

The trail crosses a bridge at the splash pool of Upper Latourell Falls at around the 0.8 miles point. Continuing on this loop trail will ring you back down along the west side of the creak and down to the Scenic Highway to the west side of the bridge. You can either cross the bridge and return to the parking lot. Or cross the road and walk down the stone steps and follow the path to the Lower part of Talbot Park where you will find a grassy picnic area. A path to the right goes under the bridge and takes you to the plunge pool of Lower Latourell Falls. Continuing on this trail will bring you back up to the parking area.

This is an easy 2.3 mile loop and well worth experiencing all the sites you will see as you walk along the trail.
