A great working museum operated by preserving Tasmanian railway history. Take a ride on a steam train or an old diesel railcar. Operated by dedicated passionate volunteers. Although commentary isn't provided on the short trip to Coles beach and return volunteers are more than happy...More

A Diesel train pulled the carriage not a vintage train. The train ride was okay but it really goes nowhere and the scenery is not pleasant. The workshops though are excellent with quite a variety of old vintage trains and equipment. This part is value...More

I feel this was really bad value for money. $34 just to ride and old diesel train 5 mins and back. No commentary on the journey to explain some of the history behind the railway.

What every family needs to do on a Sunday afternoon. Fun and informative train ride for young and not so young. Lovely ride along the Don Heads. Hop off at other end and enjoy a seaside walk before heading back to station.
