Having had a family lunch at The Windmill Harvester next to the arcade, my five grandchildren wanted to spend some of their pennies in the arcade before going home. Only one section was open today and was quite busy - the arcade does look rather...More

Kids love coming here but it's just looking a bit tired old and a bit grubby. Location is brilliant right next to the sea front. I think if it was just cleaned up a bit then it would be 5 star

This place is ideal for children between 2 to 12 although there are things for adults too. It’s an absolutely wonderful day out and right on the seafront

When you use the phrase "Was not let in" and also mention that your elder daughter only being able to reside in the cafe/diner, how do you justify this? There are height limits on rides some like the trampoline has a maximum height for safety this is sometimes (depending on the operator also an age limit as my 14yo daughter was allowed on the trampoline but my shorter 12yo Son was not and my 10yo daughter was allowed on this ride also. this seems to be an often confusing and mildly irritant to the children not allowed on when taller children are already bouncing or like in one of our 3 visits this summer. We bought a season pass for £80 that allows 10 £20 wristbands and a 10% discount on certain items like food in the said cafe and the gift shop. There are lower limits to ensure safety, for example, the roller coaster has a minimum height you have to meet to go on the ride, there is a space between this minimus and the non-accompanied rider height referred to as 'accompanied' by an adult, or rider over the max height where accompaniment is not required. The adult would go free if a wristband was bought and the height of the child would be identified as needing accompaniment on rides over the minimum height to ride but not meeting the unaccompanied ride height. I have seen adults can ride the waltzer, dodgems and flume or any other ride that they can go on (read: fit on) due to being able to accompany their children that need accompaniment, even adults ride alone so I fail to see how your eldest daughter was not "let in" I feel this misrepresents the open nature and free movement of people in and out of the park, arcade and cafe etc. as there are no gates or barriers stopping entry only when the place is closed at night. My wife and I, both taller and in my case probably wider than the minimum height for riding both were allowed free movement in the park, and all 3 of my kids went on 3 occasions for their birthdays, a 10th birthday on the 25 of July, my eldest birthday14th birthday on the 04 August and my 12th birthday on the 10th of August that 9 of the 10 all day wristbands used from the Annual pass with one left for use before renewal next year! everyone could go anywhere with the exception of the over 19's gambling area which was not visible from the outside. There amusements suitable for all, most issuing tickets while you play so you can often get a prize after playing dependant on tickets collected. I remember the old building when there was the roller coaster on the roof of the arcade before moving to the place where adventure golf was is now, and then to where it is now. It is still great value as the Smarts days. The wrists bands are great value but the best value for us was the "80 annual pass as with 9 of the 10 wristbands used that is "£180 in value" allowing us 3 instead of the planned single trip for only £20 more not to mention the gift shop savings and the cafe, though also in walking distance are chip shops by the rive and a family friendly pub/eatery just across from Harbour park. All three visits the kids spend well in the arcade and won tickets for small/medium items.
