This beach used to be covered with sand but today, it was covered in huge stones which made it so difficult to walk on. Painful on the feet and ankles. Still, it’s nice down there, listening to the birds on the cliffs and the waves...More

Very beautiful spot ... the stairs look more intimidating than they are and the elevator can take you back up if you're feeling lazy ... plus essentially you're just hiking down to a pub so isn't it worth it ??

Lovely little gem of a beach where you can gain access from a lift at Marsden grotto or for the brave and fit there are steps leading down. The beach is pebbled and slopes into the sea but be warned is quite difficult to walk...More

A local secluded beach. Peaceful with stunning views. A great place for families away from expensive rides and arcades. Ideal for picnics with the added luxury of having a pub within the rocks. A favourite place for all my family.

On a cold frosty day a great place to walk and blow away the cobwebs! Lots of steps down, but great views from the carpark.

Yup Colmans is the best, there are several seafront pubs at Shields where you can sit at outside tables and your dog will be happy. Some beach restrictions of course.
