Great place for a walk/bike with the family
Oct 2020 • Family
I love Cannock Chase, it is the perfect place to have a nice relaxing walk with the family or for an adventurous bike ride. It has everything to offer and has beautiful surroundings. We really enjoy walking around here and it is somewhere we aim to visit more often

Wonderful Place
Aug 2020 • Family
We stayed in the nearby Silver Trees lodge park, about 5 mins walk to Cannock Chase forest. We did a number of the walks and also the Go Ape. We didn’t hire bikes although it looked great fun. As a family of 4 including a 13 year old and a 9 year old we loved the place. It has something for absolutely everyone. We forget at times how many great places we have in the UK. Cannock Chase is beautiful and Cannock Chase Forest is a superb day out.

This forest as it all, not just the beauty of the forest its self, number one for me is Go Ape,a beginner's level where you will be shown the ropes,no pun intended. The more experienced levels, where you will get higher into the canopy and find difficult trials ahead of you, there are 5 levels and allow three to three and a half hours to complete. Experts on hand at all times, your safety is paramount, training procedure given that you must follow before letting you loose on the aperatus. Anyone who likes cycling then this is the place, lots of trails to follow to put you through your paces,if you don't take your own bike you can hire them. Sedge courses can be seen and done here, walking and also dog walking with a obstacle course for your dog 🐶 to complete this forest as got it all fun for all the family. Car parking costs are a little steep but if you are staying all day then £6.00 is possible okay. Whilst visiting the area we went twice to this forest, whilst I was up in the trees my wife was with our dog completing the obstacle course. Porto style toilets can be found on site also a small cafe, bench tables are socially distanced to prevent the spread of corvid19.

My son’s training for his expedition
Oct 2019 • Family
As my son spent 2 days in a tent for this training, I booked a B&B. I walked in this park for 2 days and I took amazing pictures. Good memories. Yes, it was cold, but the colours of the autumn were compensating every inconvenience with their beauties.

Xmas visit see santa
Dec 2019 • Family
Very very dissapointed as made a special trip with my 5 year old grandaughter to see santa. She's been every year since born we have never had to book. There was no one there in the queue and we were turned away as said needed to book. I tried to ask if we Could book and return girl said no. Its not very good we eont go agsin. Food was also extortionate for what we got. Before this we visited regularly as loved to go we also bought our trees there. Just were not happy at the manner in which we were just told no.

Quiet, Nature time

Wherever you go on the Chase. It's lovely. And all seasons, it differs in colours and is always so amazing. I really love the Chase's Forest. It got cute man made trails wich is suitable for bikes, joggers and walkers. The Chase overall has got so many different areas, types of environment. It's suitable for most, if not all, types of outdoor activities.

Just a nice place to be...

The photo says it all on a mild autumnal day...lots of circular walks to get your heart pulsing with some well drained tracks and soggier pathways. Peaceful and expansive if you like a sunday stroll then well worth an afternoon

Autumnul visit
Nov 2019 • Family
We visited in a Tuesday during term time. We found finding the birches Valley visitors centre well signposted. Paying £6 to park for the day was a little steep but there are other locations on the chase that offer free parking. We also paid £1.50 at the cafe to do the gruffalo orienteering challenge, which the kids enjoyed. We had a picnic lunch at the playground then walked the 2.5 mile fairoaks trail. We all had a really nice day. This particular location also has a go ape activity centre, very popular mountain bike trails, clean toilets and a cafe.

Autumnal Beauty
Oct 2019 • Solo
This time of year is the best time to visit Cannock Chase with thousands of trees showing their respective colours. For this visit parked at Birches Valley Car Park where they have lots of amenities including their “Go Ape”. The parking is a tad on the dear side and if you haven’t got cash make sure you have a contactless card, Apple Pay and/or Amex won’t work on these machines! Very obliging lady in cafe changed me a note. Hundreds of paths and cycle routes so it’s best to have a decent digital or paper OS Map. My favourite spot is the Fairoak Pools, Great for photography.
