Nature at its best with large hills, rugged terrain, lakes, rivers, rocks and footpaths everywhere. Don’t be fooled by the beauty you still need to be well equipped and careful but it’s the most fabulous area to visit.

You'll be pleased to know that I took my very first steps on the Roaches, several hundred years ago. Most recently, I was out there with some family, who still live nearby, a few days ago on a gloriously warm autumn afternoon. They are still...More

Chose this for its variety of terrain and beauty spots and wasn’t disappointed. Loved the rocky chasm (called Luds Church), sadly my knees didn’t! Need two strong legs for this yet still a gentle walk if that makes sense?

Glorious countryside with staggering views from the Roaches over the Staffordshire Moorlands, Tittesworth Reservoir and as far out as Jodrell Bank Radio Dish. This is a beautiful place to visit for walks, hill- climbing and photographic opportunities abound in every direction. Try it once and...More

I've been here a few times, and it never disappoints. On our most recent visit, we camped overnight at the neighbouring campsite, and stayed late enough to catch the whole place lit up by a stunningly golden sunset. For a day trip, you may need...More

Not really, I would recommend Tittesworth reservoir that is nearby and has views of the Roaches. Great for pushchairs and has a fab play park.
