Free entry into an historic gem. It's upstairs so inaccessible to less mobile people. It's all dark oak, well polished and gorgeous. Look at the ornate carvings in the meeting room (second room). The construction of the roof is easily seen. There are lovely views...More

This VI's a Tudor building still in regular for the same purpose for which it was built. The council still meet here, and it is easy to see why.

The Guildhall dates back to 1540 and is the most beautiful building in this lovely village. The interior has so much history to it and the main benefactor Dr William Penny Brookes (1809-1895) was the instigator for the revival of the Olympic Games

Much Wenlock's Guildhall is as good an example of Medieval architecture as you'll see anywhere. Dating from the 15th Century is setting is superb and is wonderfully cared for.

Beautiful old building with original features and internal furnishings. Very interesting internal inscriptions and information cards, I've never been anywhere like this before, so. Very very interesting, I enjoyed it so much, and it's free to enter.

Much Wenlock is a pretty much unspoilt town anyway, but the Guildhall is a lovely building. The downstairs area is open to the elements and used for markets and other activities. Just reeks of history.

Make sure you make a donation to help keep this wonderful piece of history. The smell of the antique woods and you could imagine how it was and the people that must have changed lives there.
