Had a ‘buyagift’ voucher for Christmas and Booked a Porsche 911 (stickered up as a gt3rs) Lamborghini supperleggera and a mk1 escort at Sywell aerodrome. Arrived and the lambo was unavailable (paid extra to drive this car) offered an alternative/more laps but no refund of the extra I paid at signing on. Driven the Porsche and found was a base model automatic knackered 911 (Cracked windscreen and a handful of warning lights, airbags, bulbs, traction warning etc) not a gt3rs as appeared in the pictures. Escort was fun but otherwise I would say car chase heroes are a bit cheap and cheerful and cars are a bit knackered. Doing the 3 laps/miles also feels like about 5 minutes in the car so they don’t last very long. However I driven all cars within 2 hours and was Dealt with quickly which was good. If I was to book again with a gift voucher I would probably try another firm and on a proper track rather than a runway with some cone slaloms laid out.

Hi there danpG1047QZ,
Thank you for taking the time to leave an honest review of the event that you had attended. This is how we are able to grown as a company.
I would first of all just like to clarify that that we do not advertise this car as anything more than a 911. As it says in our FAQ page on our website only certain cars are the "real deal" and most are replicas of movie icons or iconic cars. We simply want to make driving experiences in iconic cars affordable and available to all. All of the cars undergo strict motorsport inspections to make sure they are ready for track use. Many of the "Road Going" sensors that roadcars use are not suitable for motorsport applications and so these are replaced which unfortunately does give certain error lights.
Please keep in mind that the cars are each driven by around 40 people each day. We maintain the cars to a high motorsport standard both mechanically and visually, although as you can imagine we do not have a detailer on our mobile venues.
I'm glad to hear the event day ran smoothly for you. And for three cars it sounds like you were running ahead of time, which is great. Next time you are looking to have a driving experience give us a call directly because we can then advise you on cars you would enjoy as well as venues such as real race tracks and Iconic driving locations.
Many Thanks

I booked my husband a voucher to have a go in a classic Mini Cooper S for his birthday. We arrived on Sunday well in time for our 2pm drive time. It was boiling hot weather and we had to queue for a good 45 minutes with minimal shade (they were apparently behind schedule due to a technical error), weather not their fault so we soldiered on! When we got to the front they charge you an extra £25 (half the price of the original voucher) as a waiver fee which you can’t really say no to. They also try and charge you another £10 to be ‘shown the course and how to signal etc and be safe’ so really the £50 experience is £85. We refused the £10 for an extra lap and glad we did as it would have been a complete waste of money. A guy was with my husband for all his laps and told him what to do so another lap for £10 wasn’t necessary. I heard a man being questioned about why he couldn’t pay the £25 and he had to explain he had been in prison and didn’t have a bank account but did question why he was having to explain himself. We also heard a guy that had booked numerous super cars be told he couldn’t drive a Lamborghini that day even though that’s really all he wanted to drive. Also many people walking away from the desk looking and sounding furious. Pretty much a shambles. We then stood there for another TWO HOURS while they called out name after name after name. The mini stood there not being driven for an hour of that. When I questioned this with one of the girls calling out names she told me ‘there are 2 minis!’ Well, first of all - there wasn’t two minis. Secondly, so?? Send this mini out aswell and get things moving! The heat was unbearable, we ran out of water, the shop was cash only so we couldn’t get any water. It is just really poorly run and I wouldn’t return. However, once my husband FINALLY got in the car (the only mini they had there unless the other one was invisible) at gone 4pm he had a fab time and the guy that went round the course with him was great! Such a shame about the terrible running of the event up to that point.

The staff were amazing! There were many of them all over the place from booking in, to organisers, drivers, mechanics… All of them extremely friendly, helpful & really made the best of the day.
I don’t think I would book via Virgin again but rather direct with CCH.
My son had a great time, was upgraded his choice of cars due to mechanical faults sadly his pre-booked were not available (unavoidable issues) however, was beaming with the cars he actually drove.
I felt it was organised really well with having the waiting list accessible on your phone, plenty of space at Abingdon airfield to sit and wait around whilst watching the cars speed off & catching the sounds of the roaring engines (take camping chairs) My 7 year old daughter came along for the day & loved every minute.
I would highly recommend booking at least 2 cars to drive, the sighting trip to start & a high speed ride to end. (Be aware of all the costs involved along with the £25 waiver required on the day) Sadly no professional photos around the track (these would have been £25 for all photos taken during the experience to be emailed to you)
I would recommend this as a lovely treat if you or someone you know like your cars!
Huge thanks to all of the staff 29/08/21 you were fabulous!

Went to a similar track day in Atherstone a purple years ago and really enjoyed it so I was delighted to give it another go and found that the Stoneleigh site was close to home and easy to get to! Choosing this track turned out to be a mistake as the experience was pretty dire.
As soon as your arrive on site the staff will already be trying to upsell you more laps or more cars to try, and then demanding £25 extra for the ‘insurance waiver’. I arrived at 12:30 as instructed and the staff were helpful to navigate you to the waiting area. However once you get inside there is no signage as to where to go for sighting laps or where you should be waiting. I didn’t get into my car until around 2:35 (2 hour 5 minute wait) and then was disappointed to find that the ‘track’ is pretty much just a little narrow road around a park that’s packed with other cars! This means you can’t get any speed up, you’re constantly stuck behind other cars, I’m assuming the reason the speedometer is deactivated is because they’re embarrassed for you to see that you only go about 60mph max before having to slam the brakes on! (Highly recommend Atherstone track as it is much larger and allows for higher speeds and overtaking).
The £25 ‘waiver’ is totally unnecessary for anyone wondering as you’ve got no chance of causing any damage. The drive will try and flog you extra laps as you’re turning back into the pits and then you’ll get out and wait for a ‘high speed ride’ with pro driver (another £10 extra), I was put into a little Mazda for my speed Lap and the driver was excellent, however due to the track being completely overcrowded we had to come to a complete stop twice (not a very speedy lap then)!
Would recommend looking at other locations before choosing Stoneleigh! They just rush to get as many cars out as possible to maximise their income but they don’t care that this ruins the experience, the ‘track’ is totally overcrowded.

Hi chris M,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Let me apologise for the way you have been left feeling after the event. I can appreciate that waiting can be frustrating. We do ask people to account for 2-3 hours at the venue for unforeseen situations and such. I apologise that you were on the upper end of this.
I would however just like to clarify a few of the points that you have made for the benefit of others reading this. You mentioned the venue that you attended. I would like to point out that this venue is advertised, quite clearly, in the title and in the description as an Adventure Circuit. This is never described as a race track or airfield location. I can only apologise of you had missed this though.
The Damage waiver that you have mentioned in your review is something that we mention at least 5 times before you arrive on the day. It is in the voucher description, on the website as an option to add on (along with a brief description), on our FAQ page (with a full description), on your confirmation email and also on your event reminder email. This is standard practice for many motorsport activities and all Driving experiences.
Please also remember that we are a business. Our staff will of course offer you optional extras that you can purchase to enhance your day. These are of course optional so you have the choice to say no.
Many Thanks

Terrible experience. An hour of queuing in the rain to try and "check in" - which as other reviewers have said is actually an opportunity for them to try and pressurise and intimidate you into spending an additional £25 for insurance to cover a £5k insurance excess. No signage on where to go. No opportunity for spectators to see what is going on (again so that you're pressured into spending more money on their official photography. Once you get through the check in more standing around in the cold and rain while the staff shout out random names.
On following the instructions and asking "someone in an orange bib" where to go, was told that my name wasn't on the computer and they didn't have a driver for the truck that I was booked on. And then ignored me.
The only people getting drives appeared to be those who made a complaint / kicked up a fuss.
A complete shambles of an organisation staffed by people who seem to think the customer is a nuisance whose business model is actually pressure selling insurance rather than driving experiences.

I bought a Wowcher to use with this company and struggled to get rhe website to accept the code.
After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing I eventually rang them on the telephone.
I managed to get things sorted out, I was to drive the Batmobile at 3 Sisters in Wigan, on 1st November.
At the time of booking I also added an extra 3 laps as well as booking a drive in the Aston Martin DB5, also with 3 additional laps.
This cost me the price of the wowcher code (can't remember the price) plus an additional £137 for the extra car and extra laps.
On 1st November I turned up and there were people at the gates, which were locked.
There was a note pinned to the gates stating that due to CarChaseHeroes being based in Wales they could not make it.
And yet someone had managed to get there and pin a note to the gate!
The other people had driven down from the Lake District, taking over 2 hours to get there.
Neither they, nor I, had received any notification that the event was cancelled.
I emailed them as soon as I arrived home asking for a full refund.
There has been no response to date (it's now the 11th of November) so I instigated a chat with them on their website.
As you can imagine, I just got the run around. They obviously have no intention of refunding the money they have defrauded me from.
Take my advice, give them a very wide berth.
I have used other car driving experiences in the past many times and never had any problems but then, it wasn't with CarChaseHeroes.

Hi there V1387OPpaulb,
First of all let me apologise for the circumstances that have lead to this review. As you can imagine these are unprecedented times and there is very little premise for what to expect from the government and the restrictions.
The event in November was indeed postponed. It was not simply that we are based in South wales, but the Wigan area had become a Tier 3 region meaning that no activities were able to take place. This is not something we chose to do, but something we were responsible for following from government restrictions.
We had sent out an email to all of those affected, as well as updating our website home page, and updating our Facebook page also. I understand that some emails may have gone through to your junk/spam as we had sent emails out to all of the hundreds of people affected. Unfortunately this is not something we can help. The sign on the gate was a last attempt at contact for the few that may have missed the emails and other messages. We did not travel all that way for a sign, we have motorsport instructors based all over the country including in Wigan, that managed to put a sign up for us.
Please keep in mind that we are a small family sized office and are currently working through the hundreds of people affected not only by this event but also the events that have been postponed in the November national lockdown. I apologise to everyone who has been affected, but please be assured that we are working to resolve this for all affected.
Many Thanks

A fantastic time for my son. All Covid precautions where in place and enforced.
My son was dealt with respectfully and swiftly. It was very well organised and the overall waiting time was less than they said.
This was a great morning, there were some amazing cars available and the safety precautions on track were very good.
The drivers he had with him were very professional and helped to make his day very memorable.
We bought the photo and video package for £39 which we thought was not too expensive for the number of photos, videos and the quality of them.
We would highly recommend Car Chase Heroes and use them again.

My wife booked me the truck driving experience last year and we booked Abingdon Airfield on Friday 29th April, I have to say that we were both very unimpressed by the whole experience and it is definitely not value for money
Informed to arrive at 08:30 which we did, then you wait in the cold wind for an hour to reach the check in. If it had been wet, we’d have gone home as there is no shelter.
At Check-in you are asked if you want to take out the £25 insurance, or put £5K on your credit card as warranty, we did pay but have no idea how you could damage a truck as you never get above 10 mile an hour. Would you like double time, would you like a car. Upsell upsell
We were then driven to the far end of the airfield for the “experience”
The photo in the advert shows a very modern articulated unit, Volvo FH460 which is part of their fleet, looks pretty much brand new, what I was presented with was a grubby 11 year old vehicle transporter which I’m assuming is obviously used to transport their fleet of vehicles from venue to venue.
The interior of the cab was filthy, seat was grubby and certainly glad that I did not wear good clothes to the “experience”.
The “experience” was stated as 20 minutes driving time, however that transpired to include, walk to the vehicle, instruction on how to climb in, adjust seat and steering wheel, followed by a very bland piece of slow manoeuvring, not made easy by the guide who seemed to tell you which way to go at the very last minute. It was a total underwhelming experience.
When asked what I thought of the experience I stated that I was not impressed, to be informed that the truck circuit is very restricted at Abingdon as the area is shared with the young drivers area, well I’m sorry but that’s not an excuse for restricting my experience.
After being driven back to the check in area I tried to find someone that would take responsibility but “they were all out on track” So no managers overseeing the operation.
I sent an email on the day, thus far no response.
Overall experience, 3/10
Quality of vehicle 3/10
Recommend to a friend 0/10
I certainly would not recommend this or any other of Car Chase Hero’s “experiences” to others
Total waste of time and money.

Brought the 6 supercar thrill for my Dad's 70th birthday, very easy through Virgin experience days.
Originally booked for October in Northampton through car chase hereos website, few days before I rang the office 01443 888144 just to ensure all was ok, was told the booking could not be found was annoyed at this point but I was told to book again next free slots were April, booked again through car chase hereos website with same voucher and pin all confirmed.
Fast forward to a few days before event and I get an email from the general manager Emily who stated the experience was booked for October and my Dad did not show and "we are welcome to attend but would either need to charge rebooking fees or present another voucher" (easy right).
After some back and forward emails between us with no progress, midday the day before the experience there is no response, naturally I'm worried if the voucher is still going to be accepted, 3 emails sent to Emily between 12:30pm and 16:30 with no response, not very good service honestly.
Finally at 17:00 I called the office again on the same number above. Spoke with Tyler who was amazing and found booking straight away brought booking up and confirmed it was confirmed. So at 1700 the day before a 2+ hour drive I had conformation even though new conformation email the status was "not approved" not accectaple service in my opinion.
The new track we booked was the Crawley adventure circuit, finding it was easy and the team was very friendly and welcoming.
The track itself is not an actual racing track just a couple of long straights looked more like an A roads with no fast corners.
The facilities was a burger van and a toilet block, we had to stand in a field, which on a summers day wouldn't be a problem but it was very cold and wet, other track days I've been to before there has usually been at least some where to go and keep warm and dry, but this isn't a big deal just something to consider if you take spectators.
But everyone goes for the cars right! and again the team organising who is in what car were very good and efficient and all the cars were they and my Dad loved driving them.
Only problem here was there was 2 straights that the cars were able to go fast down and about an 30 mins Into the day we were told a neighbour had complained and the noise from the cars (seriously) and as a result everyone had to drive slow down the one of the straights, this was again disappointing and something to consider when you are booking.
When the day was over we went buy the video footage and photos, the team again were very friendly but and we paid £60 for all the photos and videos with the SD card, there was an issue with some footage being muted but not a big deal.
Overall my dad loved the cars even though the limitations by the track and noise from the cars being to loud for neighbours. The team on the day were all fantastic. Have to admit being ghosted by the general manager the day before was not very good considering their senior level.
Just because of the booking experience and the stress of not knowing if we would be accepted on the day, I would not recommend car chase hereos or the Crawley adventure circuit for the future.

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your review; we are glad to hear that your dad enjoyed the event.
I can see that your voucher was used for a booking you made and then did not attend in October last year. We reserved 6 cars and instructors for your dad at this event and as you did not show, these timeslots were lost.
Emily informed you of this and left your new booking as 'not approved'. She sent you multiple emails advising you of the situation to prevent disappointment. Please bear in mind that we receive hundreds of emails every day and that normal turnaround is 7 days. Emily was actually at the event setting up ready for customers the next day when the 'ghosting' happened so to leave a negative review over this seems extremely unfair.
We ended up allowing your dad to drive for free so to hear that he loved it makes up for the sour review.

This was the most unorganised track day I have ever attended, it was utter chaos. I purchased this for a birthday treat for my son to drive a Mustang at Blyton Park race circuit. We arrived at 11.30am to check in as suggested on the email, it was packed, hundreds of people there....not what I expected at all. On arrival there were no signs showing where to register your arrival, I had to ask another parent where to go. After queuing for 15 mins we finally got registered, they never asked to see my photo ID, my booking email and they didn't take our temp (for Covid) as it mentioned on the email. My son's 1 hour time slot was between 12pm and 1pm, he did not get to race his car until 4.45pm.....it was like a cattle market. Members of staff shouting out names over a microphone system that didn't work half the time. In the end I went up to the members of staff to ask what time my son would drive, one woman totally ignored me and walked off, another nicer man did say he was up next. I don't mind waiting for these sort of things, but my son was wet, cold and totally fed up by the time it was his go. It made what should've been a fun day for him into a shambles. If you do book this, book early and expect to make a day of it. In the end my son enjoyed the experience but I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this and got it through Groupon instead. I won't he use CCH again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, 5 hours wait for a 10 minute drive is not worth it!

Went there on Sunday but no action and no directions how to get there. Asked at the camp and told it's that tent and drive down the runway. Is there a different entrance?

We followed our sat nav which took us down a road past some military grounds. Entrance was on our left and it was signposted. In fact I think it was signposted from the main road too.
Follow the road round and you will park up and can see the trailers etc in front of you. Not sure if there is another entrance but I don’t think so.

Why usnobody organising or telling people what they r supposed to be doing. Organisation is really poor when signing in!!!!

When we first arrived we joined the registration queue which was there as soon as you walked in. Then a guy came up and down the queue to ask what times we had booked and told us we were a bit early so come back in 20 minutes, save you just standing there in the queue, so we got coffee and then went and checked out all the cars. Went back 20 minutes later, registered, went to the pit lane and waited for our names to be called. Did that til we finished all our drives. Awesome.
