Hay Farm Heavy Horse Centre, is a traditional old working farm museum. Get up & personal with the resident gentle giants, the Clydesdales, learn their history and browse through an extensive museum collection of old working farm machinery and associated memorabilia. The Centre does not charge for admission but is ran as a not for profit organisation and donations are welcomed- all monies donated are directed back into the centre for its upkeep and the welfare of the horses, as Hay Farm is also a registered rescue Centre for heavy horses. The centre is largely undercover and is wheelchair friendly. Dogs are welcome on leads. Refreshments are available from the gift shop and homemade picnics can be supplied by prior arrangement. Group/ Large Parties are welcomed, please book for guided tours. Coaches welcome. Each third Sunday of the month visitors are able to peruse around the Farmers Market. THE CENTRE IS CLOSED ON A MONDAY EXCEPT FOR BANK HOLIDAYS THE CENTRE WAS SHOWN ON BBC COUNTRYFILE IN APRIL AND ALSO WAS RUNNER UP IN THE WOW AWARDS FOR BEST TOURIST ATTRACTION.

On a drive round Berwick we came across this farm fab place lovely girl on reception fab horses stunning stallion in field worth going just to see him

We arrived very late in the day - the horses at rest already but we were made to feel very welcome. We had a lovely time looking at the horses and pigs!

We visited today and the children and grown ups loved it. You get to meet all of the horses and read information about them. It's very relaxing and peaceful, the information about the machinery and the history of the horses is great. We really enjoyed...More

What a little gem of a place. Wonderful for a couple of hours, beautiful horses and some fascinating displays. The staff were all lovely and it was fantastic that the place is dog friendly. 5* - must visit!!

The horses were gorgeous and my daughter couldnt beleive how big some of them was..great for an hour or two

We went to see Hay Farm after seeing a leaflet for it in our holiday cottage and it was well worth it. Beautiful and obviously well cared for animals and really friendly staff. A really lucky find.

The children were entranced by the heavy horse open day - rides in open carriages, ploughing exhibition, displays of complex heavy horse tack and equipment and of course the freedom to stroke these huge but self confidently gentle creatures...check out Hay web site for show...More

Visited the farm today for the Christmas Market. Always enjoy a visit there. Lovely atmosphere really nice stalls selling local crafts and produce. And as usual just a donation as usual for entry.
