Great museum focusing on the social history of the area which I found really interesting, two lovely ladies on the entrance were a joy and you could tell they were really passionate about the museum and the work they do.

This Museum is well worth a visit and great value for money. It is in a good location, very close to the Castle. The artefacts are very interesting and provide clear factual information about the history of the North East. I enjoyed the WI Exhibition....More

Came to the museum with teens and a toddler and all of us enjoyed it. There was plenty to read for us adults but also it was presented in an interesting way for the teens. The toddler loved getting hands on with the bits designed...More

Susan H Thanks for your positive comments. Yes, we were just setting up a new major exhibition (on 100 years of the WI), so as one of the three levels was closed off, we offered entry at half price. Everything is all accessible again now....More

Good historical section, but especially loved the quilting textiles upstairs. You can use your Arriva bus ticket to gain a discount on the entrance fee. Excellent value. Allow about an hour for visit

If you aren't wanting to pay the extortionate prices for Alnwick Castle and Gardens this is a great alternative. Adult tickets are £4, the staff are very friendly and helpful and there are some quirky exhibitions.

This is not a large museum and there are not a large number of exhibits but it does a good job of explaining the history of Alnwick and its environs in a way that the more illustrious castle down the road fails to do. The...More

This is a wonderful small museum comprising permanent exhibits about local history (from the Neolithic through to the recent past) and then temporary/touring exhibitions that change throughout the year. The staff and volunteers clearly work extremely hard as everything is beautifully presented and is both...More

Hello - we are dog friendly and am happy for people to bring their dogs into the museum as long as they are well behaved, toilet trained and on a lead.
