Interesting boulders strewn over a large area. These were carried down in glaciers millions of years ago. There are several ways to reach the erratics but the best way is to include them in a walk from Austwick. The erratics cannot be reached by car...More

The erratics can be found by taking a number of 'shortish' walks that can be varied to suit ability. They are in an area of outstanding Limestone crags and are worth a visit even if geology is not 'your thing'.

A short walk up to the Norber Erratics from Austwick is an absolute must if you are in the area. These amazing rock formations, sprinkled over the hillside like fallen chesspieces after a war, are hugely evocative.

We often start the day at Clapham or Austwick and do a 4 to 5 mile walk, if you wanted to set off from Settle it’s pleasant over fields and rough track and can take in Oxeber Woods and Wharf, but it would add on another 4... More
