Such a lovely park with something for everyone. We saw 3 playgrounds. One by the cafe for younger ones, jus passed the cafe, there is a nature adventure playground for older kids and one on the other side of the parks near the houses. There were 2 obstacle courses for dogs. Park welcome dogs but didn’t see any dog mess around so they is good. Community cafe serve good food too.

Love seeing the wildlife on the lake. My Granddaughter loves feeding the ducks. Always an enjoyable walk.

This turned out to be quite a large area of open space not too far from the centre of Melton which must be a good resource for the local residents. However, as a visitor to the area it wasn’t very exciting with strange access via a housing estate. There were many paths but even with a leaflet picked up in town it wasn’t particularly easy to follow. There was very little signage and very few interpretive boards. This park has potential to be so much more interesting. We didn’t have children but if we had I guess they might not have been too impressed by the forest play equipment. However we did enjoy strolling around particularly enjoying the furthest reaches of the park where there were foot paths out into the ’real’ countryside !!

A great place to spend a few hours, plenty of pathways with ever changing vistas, lakes with plenty of wildlife, disused railway to walk along.

A lovely park. Well laid out with something to offer the youngest and oldest of visitors. I liked the walk around the lake, the sensory garden and the homemade cake in the #SunnySkiesCafe at the visitor centre just as you enter the park. It!s dog friendly too!

Close to Melton Mowbray town the park has a café, toilets and a free car park all well maintained. There are map boards to show the footpaths, lakes and avenue of 40 oak trees. A delightful spot to explore.

Excellent park, we stopped over when travelling down to Market Harborough with our dog. There was free parking - lots of open space and different paths to use. Plenty of dog bins. Easy to find and near the centre of town. Would use again. Toilets and a cafe which we didn't use.

Well done to Jeanette and her team. Had a delicious bacon and egg cob and a cup of tea. Cooked to perfection. Great to know you can now sit inside

A lovely countryside park on the outskirts of Melton Mowbray. Really great for running - many routes could be devised. Great for a walk, with or without a dog. Good location to see some wildlife and walk/run through a range of different environments. A number of different car parks around the periphery, all free and one of which has a very good cafe and toilets.

Does anyone else use the old railway line to walk to Scalford (when the weeds are low enough to get through)?

I know runners who have done it but I tried in the Spring and it was a bit too overgrown.
