We've only just discovered Hicks Lodge and we love it! Our little boy is 4 and needed a safe place to practice riding his bike (no stabilisers!) - an internet search found us this place and it's only 35 minutes away from where we live!...More

A plantation and lake within the developing National Forest, this is a wonderful area for cycling or walking. It is particularly dog friendly with well behaved dogs even being allowed in the excellent cafe area. Staff there are very friendly and obliging.
