An interesting place full of local history, an enjoyable find in the heart of Burnley. Afterwards we walked along the canal which runs alongside the building

The visitor centre is located at Burnley Wharf and Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Run by very friendly and knowledgeable volunteers who are happy to answer any question. Do drop in when you are in the area and it's free. You won't be disappointed.

again, a neat place to visit. however, I was amused to hear it described as a 'work in progress' as that is exactly what I was told it was the last time I was here in 1979.

Run by volunteers, this is a great little place. Enthusiasm of the guides and helers enriches the experience. Burnley Wharf is a jewel of the industrial age. The centre is well worth a visi to get a small scale and local insight into another era.

If its raining and you need to get a bit of shelter good spot to stop if not avoid as dry biscuits doesn't' quite cover it. Kids may be tricked into thinking its a day trip and it is free and local to Rawtenstall.
