The Fish Slab is a small single-roomed gallery opposite the Peter Cushing. It's non-profit-making and has weekly displays from local artists. Sometimes this is one individual; other times small local collectives. There are always good seasonal exhibitions around Christmas and the Oyster Festival (mid-end July)...More

This is a small not-for-profit gallery offering space to anyone who books it. Rates are very reasonable and the shows are, more often than not, well worth seeing and some terrific affordable Art is available. This place is a great community resource. Long may it...More

For such a small place the Fishslab always has interesting exhibitions. It's well worth popping in on a regular basis just to see what is on. It often features local artists and Whitstable is certainly a place that attracts them.

I really like this unpretentious small and local gallery, used by artists of the Whitstable area. The exhibits are small, the gallery simple; so one gets a real feeling of intimacy. One often gets the chance to chat to the original artist, and discuss their...More

Excellent venue for lesser known local artists to exhibit their work at a reasonable price and having costantly changing excellent, original, creative exhibits.

There are many galleries in Whitstable, but most have a closed door and don't seem inviting to the casual visitor. However the fishlab gallery seems to entice you in.
