This beach is a fantastic beach for people of all ages - kids, dogs and all. I really enjoyed walking along here and having a drink at the bubble cafe which overlooks the beach.

Lovely beach although it is pebbles. If your dog is good off the lead it is nice for them along the walkway and plenty of grass up the slopes.

This was our first trip to Whitstable and to Tankerton beach. It was a lovely sunny afternoon for us to enjoy the fresh air and pretty beach huts as we walked along. The ice cream from the seller on his bike was very refreshing, as...More

A wide expanse of shingle, broken up into smaller areas by breakwaters, leading down to a sea that is great for stone skimming or swimming (if you can tolerate the cold water!). It can be quite windy, so suitable for sailing and kite-surfing. Very clean,...More

Nice wind-swept beach that was great for paddling around and walking the dog. It's a short walk from the town

Lovely clean area..very quiet and peaceful..lovely walking along grassy banks..has a pebble beach..so not ideal for kids..who love playing in the sand..a few shops and cafe.

The grass slopes give way to the pebble beach that denotes the shoreline. Beach huts on part of the slope make this a family beach. At the moment a disused café on the seafront, will it reopen?

Very peaceful beach, clean and not too busy. Lovely for families but also couples. Water is cleaner than most with seaweed. Quaint shops on outskirts and lovely beach huts

Free parking, beautifully kept beach huts, traditional cafés serving good, but simple fare. The beach is unspoilt, clean and the water inviting. There were only two negatives and one of them was beyond human control, seaweed... I looked like I had a seaweed wrap by...More

Yes we rented one on the front row but you have to book in advance. You can’t hire them there on the day. Just do a search for whitstable beach hut hire & you’ll have your pick of ones to choose from!
