Lovely street, lots of shops, both big brands and boutiques. The park with playground at the west end is very nice for a picnic.

A lovely wide avenue with a very wide choice of shops. Some beautiful old half timber buildings, and a selection of pubs and restaurants. All in all a very nice town.

We found a good place to eat at beginning of town, be careful down the steps! But can't remember name! Reasonable prices. Varied choices for everyone!

A lovely street scene but suffering from the retail downturn with many shops empty.the wider tree lined section streetscape is particularly pleasent.

Based for more than a week in nearby Biddenden, we were impressed with the intense abundance and variety of daily itinerary offerings. Restricting myself to the general notion of contiguous villages provides an excellent example of this largesse. It's easy to wander into Friddenden, Smarden,...More

These shops vary in that some have been there many years and give an old fashioned and polite service to customers, other enterprising folk have taken over shops and for instance there is a wonderful haberdashery shop selling canvas, tapestry wools, silks etc, which is...More
