We chose this attraction rather than one of the many zoos in the area as the focus appeared to be on conservation and wellbeing of the animals. We weren't disappointed. The centre is fairly small but has some really interesting species that you can get...More

Hubby and I visited here whilst on weekend away and although I must say the enclosures and the care taken with the animals and their habitat is really brilliant and the staff are fantastic,we did think it was a little expensive for what was there...More

The staff were so lovely and well-informed. It was pretty quiet the day we went it almost felt as if we were having our own private tour. Be sure to go in the afternoon though as the animals tend to rest in the morning.

I was visiting my nan and grandad when I found a leaflet for this is our hotel, we thought we'd drive over and have a look. Being an animal lover I'm bit a big fan of zoos but every animal I saw looked so well...More

I support good zoos, and the role they can play in conservation, and as that is this collection's raison d'etre, I was looking forward to visiting. The centre is still very much in development, but as the site it occupies is not especially large, development...More

A fantastic afternoon out. As an animal lover I was amazed to see so many animals that I had never heard of! The staff are informative and willing to answer any questions, and they provide a tour around the area currently under construction. This is...More

I hadn't even realised the Centre had re-opened until stumbling across some good reviews on here. As others say, it's on a much smaller scale than most zoos but definitely has a charm of its own. The highlights for me were the Asian Beavers, who...More

This zoo is very small, but it has huge ideas! It is a true haven for rare species (as the name would suggest), and whilst at first glance it may not appear like the perfect day out for the family (no play area etc), there...More
