More
Turner Contemporary is a pioneering visual arts organisation using our namesake’s spirit of radical enquiry to activate art and people, in our galleries and beyond. Located in an elegant purpose-built gallery, designed by David Chipperfield Architects, the gallery looks out on the very views that JMW Turner immortalised in many of his key works. Turner Contemporary presents a rolling programme of temporary exhibitions, events and learning opportunities which make intriguing links between historic and contemporary art. The gallery offers a space for everyone to discover different ways of seeing, thinking and learning.

Sarah was an excellent enthusiastic guide who gave us 30 mins of insight into the exhibits. There are 4 tours each day and no minimum number of participants. Well worth a visit.

We visited Margate, on a rainy day, primarily to visit the Turner Contemporary. After lunch we visited the GAllery. It has clean open spaces and great views of sea and shipping. We saw the exhibition on Animals in Art. My four year old granddaughter enjoyed...More

As my title suggests this architectural sheet cliff face in cement, glass and steel designed by David Chipper field opened in 2011, is an impressive backdrop to the Anthony Foreman figure who stands mid tide up to his waist in the chilly waters of the...More

Visited with my wife and sons. The greeter in the foyer was welcoming and the lady who did the 'hands on' artefacts was very friendly. We liked the animals exhibition. The gallery would benefit from some good permanent exhibits to attract visitors. A few decent...More

Dissaponted that there was no more than one Turner. A bit if an odd exhibition in our opinion. The staff were friendly and helpful.
