Overview
More
Turner Contemporary is a pioneering visual arts organisation using our namesake’s spirit of radical enquiry to activate art and people, in our galleries and beyond. Located in an elegant purpose-built gallery, designed by David Chipperfield Architects, the gallery looks out on the very views that JMW Turner immortalised in many of his key works. Turner Contemporary presents a rolling programme of temporary exhibitions, events and learning opportunities which make intriguing links between historic and contemporary art. The gallery offers a space for everyone to discover different ways of seeing, thinking and learning.

Margate can be proud of this show, illustrating TS Eliot's time in the town. Spacious, wonderfully lit and informative, this is a must-see for any visitor.

Definitely the best part about a trip to margate. The gallery is a perfect size for a visit with children and has a lovely little cafe.

Tasty quite imaginative light lunches here. Delightful if the weather is good enough for you to sit outside in the sun, but rather noisy if you are with friends or family and want a chat. We were very happy with it overall.
