The medieval towers of the ruined church of St Mary are the highlight of Reculver. They were added in the 12th century to a church founded in 669. The church was vandalized in 1809 and only these ruins remain. What a beautiful piece on history!!!...More

From the car park, a short steepish walk up to the towers allows a view across the old Isle of Thanet. Previously a real island, the river Samsung separated Thanet from Kent and the Towers were initially a church and laterally a wonderful landmark, originally...More

Visited whilst on holiday in Herne Bay. Definitely a highlight of our stay. Attraction is free although you pay for parking. There are a couple of cafes so that you can soak up the atmosphere.

It's a nice place for kids to explore. There is a lovely childrens play area, with seating great for a picnic. Or pop into the King Ethlebert for a delicious lunch.

Lovely for an hour's visit. £1 for an hour's parking. Lovely childrens park to let them burn off some energy. There is a little cafe but we didn't use it. We did see a gathering of dog walkers as I think there are cliff walks...More
