Popped in for a quick beer with my 5 year old. Everyone was very friendly and there was an excellent selection of beers and ciders (including a good selection of Belgian beers). Prices were also reasonable.

This is one of several pubs close together, all with military connections to the Royal dockyard at the bottom of the hill. Good beer, friendly landlady, nice garden. Opens early and sits on the route of the Saxon Shore way.

Great place to see familiar faces and sample an array of well-groomed beers. Lovely and friendly and rough around the edges, all in the nicest way! Live music often on offer too!

If you want a pub, as a pub It should be - this is the place. Alas John Brice has gone and there a few changes, But this should be high on your places to visit for a decent pint and good conversation.
