Remarkable sensation to lift up on land and float across to the water. Speedy travel and very efficient operation. Buy tickets, get on, and the crossing is done in 10 minutes. This is a very busy waterway with Navy ships, ferries, and larger merchant ships...More

Thank you Fred for your review - the Solent is very busy and although we are only on the water for less than 10 minutes, each journey does require skill and experience to navigate. The old forts have fascinating histories - well worth a trip.

Brilliantly efficient way of travelling to IOW, particularly for the day as foot passengers. It only takes 10mins and was only a couple of minutes walk from our hotel in Southsea. Very comfortable journey.

This, I think is the last operating Hovercraft in the UK, so worth a trip just for that alone. The craft though are new, very comfortable and quick. Two concession tickets cost £32 for a day/return

I always used the hover for mainland trips until the new craft was brought in. The ramp for wheelchair users is ridiculously steep and any wheelchair will tip backwards. I have 'anti tips' on my manual chair and the steepness pushed my wheelchair even beyond...More
