Ryde has a very pleasant promenade, pier and shops. A number of outlets were closed as it was out of season but even on a wet cold day still an interesting walk.

i travel with the hover craft every other month to the main land and had only one issue but nothing major. Quick way to travel from the island to the mainland and if you have the blue card its even cheaper

Great place to get covered in spray and explain the British invention - the hovercraft. However when it leaves sand mixes into the spray so beware of your eyes!
