Great place to get covered in spray and explain the British invention - the hovercraft. However when it leaves sand mixes into the spray so beware of your eyes!

This is a lovely place. Next to the pier and ferry port this is the home of the impressive hover craft the links the IoW with Portsmouth. Train Busy Food Drink Ryde town centre All at hand for the visitor. Worth visiting.

The steep streets of Ryde picturesquely run down to the Harbour, which is basically bounded at one side by the Pier. Next comes the Hovertravel terminal and further along there is a Yacht Marina. A busy area, looking at its best on a sunny day.

It is not really much of a harbour, hence the need for a very long pier. The actual yacht harbour is tidal and quite small compared with many marinas. The main attraction is watching the hovercraft going in and out.
