About
Nestled between woods and beach at the waters edge, the remains of the Victorian Fort now host visitor attractions and a cafe. The licensed café boasts one of the most impressive locations on the Solent, with fantastic views from across to Hurst castle and the New Forest National Park from the patio, with inside seating for summer showers. With acres of woodland, a natural beach, paid attractions including a Planetarium, Reptilarium and Model Railway. There is a visitor information room and Themed Gift shop area with an Old Penny Arcade! Fort Victoria Country Park by the sea is an ideal place to spend a day; there is something to suit everyone. Entry fees and opening times vary so please check our website. The site has accessible toilets, is dog friendly and offers free onsite parking. Please note due to strong currents the beach is unsuitable for Bathing which is prohibited but great for Fossil Hunting!.

Ideal stop if you're early for the ferry
Jul 2021
Nice place to visit to wait for your ferry from Yarmouth if you're too early (the nice chap at the port recommended it). It's free, interesting, there's nice views and decent cafes.
We sat outside and had a coffee whilst enjoying the lovely views of the Hampshire coastline. We then had a nice walk along the beach.
Very relaxing.

Nice woodland walk and free parking
Jul 2021 • Family
Nice family attractions for a couple of hours.

Woodland walk is nice and not too long. Dog friendly.

Free parking and nice ice cream outlet.

Beach isn't great for walking.

Some information on the history but this is limited.

Lovely walks
Jun 2021
Free parking, superb views across the Solent. Lovely walks along the coastline or into the woods. There are a few shops and cafe in the ruined gun encasements. Super spot for a picnic .

Nice views
Oct 2020 • Couples
Nice views of the sea and the attractions in the arches would probably be interesting but they all seemed to be closed at the time. We visited the Reptile centre.

Lovely cafe
Oct 2020 • Couples
This was a real find. There was a lovely cafe with views over the Solent. We had a super lunch sitting in the sunshine watching the boats on the water. Very well organised from a social distancing perspective. We then took a nice walk around the country park. Great spot for a couple of hours.

Hi, Thanks for visiting, now we are in the off peak season, plus struggling with a few "Corona" staffing logistic issues, the Gift shops and Reptilarium open from 10.30 am, The Planetarium is closed this year for corona shielding reasons and the model railway is closed until next year as it is being refurbished.

Lovely setting on the Solent coast
Sep 2020
An interesting place in a beautiful setting. Not too much to see other than the remains of the fort and to learn about the history of the place but it is a beautiful setting and worth a visit for that alone.

Not much open
Sep 2020
This was nice to stop for the view and the history but very little is open so maybe next time? If you like history then when covid is over it will be worth a visit, espacially when the model railway is open
