The ancient ruined church at Edvin Loach and the Victorian church next to it are both well worth a brief visit, but they are not easy to get to, since they are well off the beaten track. If approaching from the nearest town, Bromyard, which...More

As the name suggests, it's an old church. I wasn't expecting the wall to go all the way around still & can see a few windows still. It wasn't the best day we visited as was raining. There are bigger ruins of churches/abbeys local(ish) to...More

Tucked away in deepest Herefordshire, Edvin Loach Old Church is a charming ruin, It has an interesting history, and although it takes some finding, it is worth it. The new Victorian church next to the ruin is also well worth visiting.

Hidden away up an unmade road, the ruins of the Saxon church display an unusual herring bone pattern in the stone. The Victorian church built to replace it is a kind of restrained Gothic and just as interesting. It takes a bit of effort to...More

My wife and I got married at the 'new' church in 2014 after 14 years together and we were the 20th wedding since 1936 Beautiful place, fabulous views small but committed congregation and wonderful to see the ruins of the 'old' church. So peaceful and...More

What struck us about this lovely part of the world, with which we are not familiar, is just how many churches are in the middle of nowhere, so leaving us wondering who were the parishioners in the days when few country people had any form...More

We went here to see where someone got married. There are the remains of an older church here which had herring bone wall structures which I had never seen before. The current church was locked so I cannot comment on the interior. But I found...More
