We often go here to eat our fish and chips. Beautifully peaceful and always worth the drive down even in the winter. Great place for the dog to walk the kids 😊

Gorgeous walk around Hatchet Pond - though be careful of the soggy bits.... if you're lucky, the donkeys will be out in full force. Great for picnics and rounders matches.

Usually we walk around the pond and have an ice cream. This time we sat in the car reading in the rain! It was still peaceful with ducks on the pond and a couple of soggy donkeys looking rather fed up.

Really lovely walk, nice easy flat circuit and the added benefit of a few donkeys along the way!!! Was a little wet when we went but as long as you stick to the path you’ll be fine!

Came in November, so do watch out for large sections which are very wet and boggy. But still a very pleasant walk

Our favourite place for our picnics. Parking not in the busy parking place but further down the lake one can always find a quiet place to sit and relax watching the wild life and grazing donkeys, ponies and sometimes some of the roving cows.

Lepe beach has built in BBQs. When you book you will be met on site by one of the country park staff who will show you the location of the facilities. It's a little south of the Forest but has great views over the Solent.
