The water was so still and reflected all the trees surrounding the pond. We were able to watch the water fowl and the New Forest Ponies, You can walk around and it is so relaxing.

We passed the pond earlier in the day due to a family of Donkeys (including foals) and commented at that point how lovely and clean the area is, and how beautiful the view was. Later in the evening we Googled the best sunset view and...More

Love Hatchet Pond. I could sit here all day watching the ponies and the swans. Fabulous place to either take a walk or just sit and read a book.

We bought a nice picnic from the nearby Beaulieu Organic Farm Shop. Lovely spot if a little windy when we visited. Donkeys and ponies may wish to join you!

A very pleasant place to have a walk, although it can get very muddy in wet weather and walking the entire circuit of the pond not easy. Car park right next to pond.

Lepe beach has built in BBQs. When you book you will be met on site by one of the country park staff who will show you the location of the facilities. It's a little south of the Forest but has great views over the Solent.
