Great cafe in the heritage centre .

Great museum, gift shop, cafe and library in the heart of the new forest. The cafe has just had a makeover and I enjoyed some amazing chocolate brownies and delicious coffee.

For free, you can't get much better places to go and be entertained and educated. All the staff are lovely.

Good Cafe and Shop
Nov 2020
A bit restricted due to COVID-19 but still a good place to spend an hour. Very well stocked shop and coffee and cake in the cafe were excellent.

Worth a visit

A very good place to go when visiting the National Park. We had a friendly welcome upon arrival and were shown the exhibitions. There is a £2 donation which I think was well worth it as there is a lot of information to see. My son, who is 2, enjoyed looking at the displays with the horses, the foresters and spotting the animals. The shop is good and there was a cafe but we didn't use it. Car park outside has short stay parking available and it was £1.40 via the RingGo app for an hour. Opportunity to walk into the village high street too. I would probably return if I visited again and always good to know if you need to duck out of the rain too!

Called here to find out what to do for our stay in The New Forest. Free entry but you can make a £2 voluntary donation. Lots of information about the New Forest - its history and what to see.

An interesting visit, with enough to distract small children for a while, adults would be able to spend longer looking at the displays. Entry by donation. Good precautions for COVID-19.

Good intro to the Forest
Aug 2020
This is a compact but well thought out introduction to the New Forest . An introductory video gives a good overview while the exhibits explain how the Forest evolved and is managed. Covid restrictions well managed
