Lots of efforts by volunteers and it is nice to see the jails but it is quite small in general, I was a little disappointed by the gift shop which I thought would showcase more local artists and craftsmen work.

Despite all the notices and advice that it was open, it was closed unless "you have an appointment". Came from Leicester. Disappointing.

The museum provides some wonderful insights into local history and is clearly interested in fostering support for its historical activities. The staff were most helpful and happily assisted with our family history research. We were very impressed.

I was expecting the museum to be a bit boring to be honest, but it was anything but! Really well laid out, friendly and welcoming staff, they didn't mind the kids being in there. Will definitely be going again on a rainy day!
