Lots of efforts by volunteers and it is nice to see the jails but it is quite small in general, I was a little disappointed by the gift shop which I thought would showcase more local artists and craftsmen work.
Spent a while just wandering around looking at the exhibits from the local area. These range from artefacts in the Old court house to the SAVOY sign from the former cinema. Building includes the Flora Twort Gallery - a local prominent historian artist.

The museum provides some wonderful insights into local history and is clearly interested in fostering support for its historical activities. The staff were most helpful and happily assisted with our family history research. We were very impressed.
Happened upon this by chance but for a £2 entrance fee thought we would give it a go. Glad we did a potted history of the local area, including a wonderful set up of old telephones where you could here the reminiscences of locals. Exhibits...More
I was expecting the museum to be a bit boring to be honest, but it was anything but! Really well laid out, friendly and welcoming staff, they didn't mind the kids being in there. Will definitely be going again on a rainy day!
