Not a bad menu and at the time of visit they had rugby Six nations themed burgers which looked amazing (but only noticed them after I ordered.). It’s all ok and the pulled pork is very nice. Avoid the curry sauce as it has less...More

Food was awful, even for basic pub grub. Chips were inedible. There was a dirty mop type smell as you walked in, which lingered throughout. The barman was friendly but it’s certainly not what it used to be unfortunately.

Stayed in the premier inn just round the corner for a couple of nights. Was looking for a decent pub having tried the ubiquitous Wetherspoons which was rammed and is the cheapest of the few pubs in the town centre. Some one recommended the Wheatsheaf...More

Business Trip, staying at nearby Premier Inn. Went in for a few beers. It has good real ale. Watched the Liverpool V Chelsea game. The natives were friendly but they couldn't fathom what a Scouser was ding in there,

Only went in for a few drinks on a Friday night. Not that busy really as it really close to the uni. Was okay though, no issues.

Have to say it is a well located pub with good range of drinks at average prices. Food, unfortunately really not up to scratch - all meals were somewhat overcooked and dry. Had we not been in hurry to catch train we certainly would have...More

This popular pub is a good meeting place and offers a traditional venue for a pint or for a group wanting to meet. The menu is pub fare but reasonably priced and well prepared.

Absolutely disgusting food, served cold. Manager argued with me, refused to rectify my food. Was unhygienic and disgusting over all

The Wheatsheaf is a great pub with the main attraction being its abundance of pool tables, and the fact it has small (albeit fairy low-resolution) TVs inside some of the booth tables. I will say that you may want to check beforehand whether there's a...More
