Happisburgh Lighthouse is the oldest working light in East Anglia, and the only independently run lighthouse in Great Britain. Built in 1791 it was saved as a working light by the local community, it is maintained and operated entirely by voluntary contributions. The lighthouse is open to the public on occasional Sundays and Bank Holidays throughout the summer. Private visits can also be arranged throughout the year for individuals or groups.

Such a lovely quiet place to recharge your batteries. Lighthouse is quite something. Lovely dog friendly beach where you sometimes spot the odd seal swimming by! Sandy beach, and a lifeboat gift shop. Car parking close to beach (payable) and toilets too. If the sun...More

Arranged a special visit here for a small group for Hubby's birthday. This lighthouse is unique as it is now run and maintained by dedicated volunteers who campaigned against its closure. A special Act of Parliament was required to allow them - rather than Trinity...More

Not open on the day we took the walk around the village trail but we intend to visit on an open day. It appears to be a very well kept building accompanied by its two cottages

This charming lighthouse is apparently the oldest working lighthouse in East Anglia. It was was constructed in 1790 as one of a pair of candle-powered lights before being electrified in 1947.

What a lovely place to visit. Gorgeous sandy stretch of beach with fabulous views. The play area at the car park is great too - the zip wire was a big hit. There are toilets and a place to buy coffee too.
